HD Homerun is dual tuner and the Mini' s built in 5400RPM drive is capable of recording two HD shows at once, although if you start watching an HD show while recording two I have noticed some occasional stuttering, plan to eventually upgrade to a 7400RPM drive that' s a little roomier than 320GB that came with it to hopefully solve that problem.

Minis disappear almost as soon as they' re listed on Apple' s refurb store, and can be hard to get, but there' s a site that will scrapes Apple' s site and you can set it up to email you when new Minis show up on the store.Runs super quiet, and is more than adequate for most HTPC needs. Great thing about Apple refurbs is they come with a full years warranty, are eligible for AppleCare same as a brand new units and are always in perfect condition (I' ve bought a Unibody Macbook and a couple iPods all refurb unites from Apple and never had a problem). 26GHz slower processor, specs are same as current gen $599 unit but we also got the 320GB hard drive you usually have to pay a $100 to upgrade to or go with the $799 unit to get a processor and RAM boost too. The Dell Zino HD had just been announced and we considered it, but after we specced it out the way we wanted to it ended up being within a $100 of this and there' s no question that in the long run, both performance wise and both being Mac users, that we would be happier with the Mini.Ended up getting:2.0GHz Intel Core 2 Duo ($499.00 USD)2GB memor圓20GB hard drive8x SuperDrive (DVD±R DL/DVD±RW/CD-RW)NVIDIA GeForce 9400M with 256MB memoryScored a great deal on this Apple refurb unit directly from Apple, a previous rev than currently available, but got it for only $499. In the end getting rid of cable costs and the dual tuner HD Homerun' s abilities are what pushed him into the green. I was finally able to convince the hubby that it wouldn' t be a huge pain in the butt, which wasn' t an easy task because he' s been a longtime TiVo user. Been wanting to do this for years, but glad I waited because these newer Minis are really fantastic.
